The second release of Dirt Tapes Sounds (in collaboration with Four Flies Records) is one of the most fascinating soundtracks of Italian cinema. Composed by Roberto Nicolosi in 1972 for "L'occhio nel labirinto" (Eye in the labyrinth), an experimental thriller by Mario Caiano (starring Adolfo Celi, Alida Valli and Rosemary Dexter), it features a score of rare beauty at the service of an exceptional band composed of Giovanni Tommaso (bass), Franco Tonani (drums), Angelo Baroncini (guitar), Antonello Vannucchi (organ) Franco d'Andrea (piano), Gianni Basso (tenor sax), Dino Piana (trombone) and Cicci Santucci (trumpet).
The result is a dark and bewitching jazz-funk sound that perfectly fits the descent into the labyrinth of the human psyche.
As for the first release of Dirt Tapes Sounds the packaging is unique: in addition to the audiocassette (with analog remaster from the original tapes and onbody full coverage UV print) you will find:
- box (380 g/m²and 4/4 print)
- original movie poster
- postcard with credits and photos of maestro Roberto Nicolosi
- eye magnet (created exclusively for this release)
